“Food is uniquely portable of magic” graft...

Life made up by simple thoughts; food is what, creates magical plot. As a human being, we’re dragging out all the tricks and discovered the magic in food. In food we can possibly find all the ingredients of life meant for any species on earth such as knowledge, love, culture, communication, and nation, which lead us to a magical scenario. Food has magical properties for any creature’s that gives us proper satisfaction through our entire existence. However, between food and creatures there is magical relationship because without food nobody can be alive on this earth. Food is a magical enhancement for any creatures on earth which gives us the energy, knowledge, love, and ideas to maintain our daily lives. The book, Like Water for Chocolate, by Laura Esquivel and Odyssey by Homer, has many of these instances of magical relationship in food.
In general, food works as magic, especially when we need knowledge and energy to generate strength physically and mentally. In The Odyssey written by Homer, many instances which is noticed that mortals are nothing without the odysseys, the gods itself, and his magic to control everything because he did not have any magical power but still he was able to do anything alone. However, in this book, Odyseous played a major role in the lives of mortals. If Odyseous hadn't had any knowledge at that time, he and his warriors would have died in the cave to Cyclopes when Cyclopes went about eating two of Odyseous men. In that case, Odyseous used his magical track with the wine which put Cyclopes into sleep. Apart from that “food and magic” is always related because it is very appealing to the senses. Odyseous incredible self belief kept him alive and indeed he made it home to his family and his kingdom in Ithaca.
In Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, “food and magic” are joined together with love. Tita’s magical emotions and love express through food when she couldn't stop crying while making a wedding cake for her sister who made the icing of the cake turned pink. However, the magic began while everyone ate the cake and started to throwing up and crying. On the other hand, when Tita cooked quail with “rose paddle sauce” which gave Tita’s sister Gertrudis a feeling of love. The food is magical and it causes others to become emotional. Just as the writer Laura Esquivel, has transferred love into her novel and Tita transferred love into her food, because this story is a way of expressing emotions, feelings and love for each other. Tita’s food is kind of magic that made people to react with Tita's emotion. “Just as a poet plays with words, Tita juggled ingredients and quantities at will, obtaining phenomenal results, and all for nothing; her best efforts were in vain” (p.69). Throughout this book, there have been many instances of magic where most of them were actually from Tita’s food. She tried to express her feelings through her food which gave magic’s whenever people ate her food. But she barely had happiness in her life.
In addition, Food has the magic to bring people closer to each other. When we smell food, we don’t really smell the food; we actually smell the magic of the food which force us to eat that particular food. We find the leverage to bring people together, using food. On any occasion, we need food to celebrate our special days. In our culture, food means a lot to us because without food all the events are meaningless. For example, in our culture, we mainly satisfy our guests with different types of food during parties or weddings. Therefore, if the foods are good that means the parties or weddings must be good as well. Another reason why we choose food is because the magic in food is very easily appreciated.
Indeed, it is very magical that we cannot survive without food because of the way its magic plays through our body and nothing else can replace food. Since, Tita and Odysseus showed the world how to track people by magic of the food; we would be able to see that more often as the time passed by. We all know what food means to us for our daily life. We begin the day with breakfast and end the day with dinner. If we are hungry we easily feel that we need to eat. Therefore, I believe food can be a magical tool in our daily life. Food can make anything possible and it can give us satisfaction through our life.
